Tim Cook officially stepped down as Apple CEO in September, transitioning into the role of executive chairman. John Ternus, who previously served as the company's hardware chief, has taken over the top leadership position.

In a recent interview, Cook emphasized that he is not interfering with the work of his successor. He noted that the two maintain a high level of mutual trust and frequent communication, which he considers essential for a successful leadership handover.

Cook is now focusing his efforts on worldwide policy and government relations. He stated that he provides assistance to Ternus only when requested, allowing the new CEO to define his own management style rather than mimicking his predecessor.

The leadership transition process began several years ago, with Cook aiming to create a textbook example of how such changes should occur. Shortly after assuming his new role, Ternus introduced the iPhone Duo, a move Cook supported to provide momentum for the new CEO.
