The SRT badge, which stands for Street and Racing Technology, identifies high-performance vehicles produced by brands under the Stellantis umbrella. The division originated from the Team Viper and Team Prowler groups, which initially formed Specialty Vehicle Engineering before rebranding to Performance Vehicle Operations in 2002 and finally adopting the SRT name in 2004.
The 2003 Viper SRT-10 was the first vehicle to officially carry the badge, following its debut as a concept at the 2001 Detroit Auto Show. Shortly after, the 2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4 introduced a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with 215 hp. The 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10 utilized an 8.3-liter V10 engine producing 500 hp, which secured a Guinness World Record for the fastest truck.
The 2005 Chrysler SRT8 introduced the 6.1-liter Hemi V8 with 425 hp, establishing a performance template for subsequent models. The 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat featured a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 with 707 hp, which evolved into the 1,025 hp Challenger SRT Demon 170 by 2023.
After a period of inactivity for the dedicated SRT team, Dodge and Ram executive Tim Kuniskis announced a revival of the division in 2025. Recent developments include the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT with a 777 hp Hellcat V8. Future plans include the Jeep Wrangler Scrambler SRT, Dodge Charger Hellcat, Dodge GLH SRT, and the Dodge Copperhead SRT coupe.
