Euro-pegged stablecoins currently total approximately €711 million, representing less than 1% of the total stablecoin supply. According to analysis by Ryan Connor of RockawayX, the onchain ratio of USD-pegged to EUR-pegged stablecoins exceeds 300-to-1, contrasting with the real-world ratio of roughly 3-to-1.

The assets under management (AUM) in euro-denominated DeFi vaults have increased more than 10x over the past year, growing from roughly €12 million to €135 million. This amount currently represents 2.4% of total vault AUM.

The growth is driven by the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, which provides a legal pathway for compliant stablecoins. Tokens such as EUROP and EURCV are part of this regulated issuance wave, enabling institutional players to allocate capital.

The expansion of euro stablecoins is linked to the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). Euro-denominated RWA yield products, including tokenized European government bonds and corporate debt, require a native euro settlement layer to operate efficiently and avoid FX conversion costs and currency risk for European investors.
