Tether participated in the seed funding round for EFY Finance, a financial infrastructure provider based in Latin America. The partnership aims to increase institutional adoption of USDT and USAT tokens for cross-border payments and financial services.
EFY Finance operates in over 17 countries, including Bolivia, Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, Panama, and Ecuador. The firm supports more than 12 currencies and manages over 25,000 individual and business accounts.
The company provides on-ramp and off-ramp services, OTC trading, as well as wallet and card solutions. EFY Finance holds a Digital Asset Service Provider license in El Salvador to support its institutional operations.
This investment follows Tether's previous move in the region, where it invested $20 million in the Argentine neobank Uala in July 2026.
