Tesla is launching version 14.3.9 of its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software. This update introduces a new active safety feature set that allows the system to intervene even when the vehicle is being operated manually.
The software can now take directional control and steer the car to avoid obstacles if the system detects an imminent collision where standard Automatic Emergency Braking is insufficient.
The system may also activate if it detects that the driver is heavily distracted or has accidentally disengaged the FSD mode. This functionality operates in the background while the vehicle is in manual mode.
Tesla has not yet clarified whether users will have the option to disable this new steering intervention feature or provided specific details on the decision-making logic behind the system's maneuvers.
