Tesla is hosting an inauguration event for its new dedicated Semi factory located in Sparks, Nevada. The facility is designed for a production capacity of 50,000 electric trucks annually and has been operational since April.
Drone footage captured at the site shows at least 11 trucks featuring logos from various fleet customers, including PepsiCo, US Foods, DHL, WattEV, ABF, Einride, IMC, and OK Produce. Some of these companies are existing partners, while others are new additions to the order list.
The Tesla Semi is available in two configurations: a Standard Range model with 325 miles and a Long Range version with 500 miles. Both variants utilize an 800 kW three-motor powertrain.
The company recently became a primary supplier for a 2,500-truck order from ZET SCALE, a project supported by Microsoft and PepsiCo. Analysts project total deliveries for the current year to range between 5,000 and 15,000 units.
