Tesla will showcase its Cybercab autonomous taxi at the Paris Motor Show, which opens on October 12. This event marks the first public appearance of the vehicle in Europe. The Cybercab model lacks both a steering wheel and pedals, meaning visitors will not be able to take rides in the car during the exhibition.
In addition to the Cybercab, Tesla will offer test drives for six other vehicle models, all equipped with the company's FSD driver-assistance system. CEO Elon Musk views the Cybercab as a central component of Tesla's strategy to transition into an AI-focused company, with plans to deploy thousands of these autonomous vehicles across the United States.
Other major participants include Stellantis, which plans to display over 60 vehicles across eight brands, and Renault, which will showcase approximately 50 production and concept models, including the updated Dacia Spring. Chinese manufacturers BYD and Xpeng, along with Volkswagen, are also scheduled to attend the event.
The BMW Group will be absent from this year's Paris Motor Show. The company previously announced its withdrawal from the exhibition as part of a broader cost-cutting initiative led by its new CEO, Milan Nedeljkovic, following a significant profit warning issued earlier this year.
