Tesla has initiated series production of its Semi electric truck at a dedicated facility in Nevada. The site spans approximately 167,000 square metres and is designed to reach an annual capacity of up to 50,000 vehicles. This production line will handle the manufacturing of Standard and Long-Range models, alongside a version specifically adapted for the European market.

The company handed over the first series-production units to about a dozen customers. While Tesla confirmed a growing order backlog, it did not disclose current production rates, specific order volumes, or the pricing of the trucks. CEO Elon Musk noted the existence of a long waiting list for the vehicle, which was first unveiled in 2017.

Recent demand includes a tender from the US purchasing alliance ZET SCALE for 2,500 Class 8 battery-electric trucks, where Tesla is listed as one of several potential suppliers. Additionally, the company holds confirmed orders for 500 units from Einride and 50 units from IMC Logistics.

Deliveries for the European market are scheduled to commence in 2027. Initially, these European-spec trucks will be produced at the Nevada facility, though Tesla has indicated the possibility of future manufacturing at its factory in Grünheide.
