The Czech Ministry of Transport has officially authorized the use of Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) on public roads. The decision follows several months of testing and regulatory consultations between the company and local authorities.

The approval relies on the preliminary type certification previously issued by the Dutch regulator RDW. Earlier this year, Prague had initially rejected automatic recognition of this permit, citing concerns regarding speed limit compliance, traffic sign recognition, and driver monitoring systems.

Following additional data analysis and discussions, the Czech Republic has become the seventh European Union nation to permit the system. Other countries where the technology is currently active include the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, and Slovenia.

Tesla clarified that the system remains a Level 2 driver assistance feature. Drivers are legally required to maintain constant control of the vehicle at all times. Furthermore, the functionality is restricted to vehicles equipped with the Tesla AI4 hardware platform.
