Tesla has unveiled the European specifications for its Semi electric truck ahead of the official launch at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover, scheduled for September 15-20. The vehicle is rated for a range of 550 km when fully loaded at 40 tonnes.

The European model features a curb weight of 9,100 kg, which is lighter than the US Long Range version. The truck supports charging at 800 kW, allowing it to recover approximately 60% of its range in 30 minutes. These figures differ from the US version, which offers 805 km of range and 1.2 MW charging capabilities.

Tesla has not yet disclosed pricing or an official on-sale date for the European market. It remains unclear whether the trucks will be imported from the US or manufactured at the company's Berlin facility, as previously suggested by CEO Elon Musk.

The company enters a competitive European market where manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Trucks, MAN, Scania, DAF, and Renault already offer battery-electric heavy trucks. The Mercedes eActros 600, for instance, provides a range of approximately 500 km using a 600 kWh battery.
