Kevin Finley, a resident of Winter Springs, Florida, faced criminal charges including fleeing from police and reckless driving. The legal proceedings against him lasted for nearly two years after he failed to stop for a patrol vehicle.

Finley stated he did not see the police lights or hear sirens while driving home from a school trip. He initially assumed the stationary vehicle on the median was broken down or preparing to make a U-turn, leading him to continue driving to his residence.

Evidence presented in court included footage from the driver's Tesla cameras and the officer's body-worn camera. The recordings showed that the patrol car's emergency lights were only briefly visible before being obscured by road curves and buildings.

Following the review of the video evidence, the judge acquitted Finley of all charges. The driver was initially detained at gunpoint upon arriving at his home. Finley is currently considering filing a civil lawsuit following the conclusion of the case.
