Tesco has reached a milestone of 2,000 electric delivery vans in its UK fleet. This figure represents over 30% of the company's total delivery vehicles, which currently number 6,000 units. The retailer aims to fully electrify its entire home delivery fleet by the end of 2030.

The transition has accelerated recently, with the fleet growing from 720 vehicles in March 2025 to 1,000 by October 2025. In the 2025/26 financial year, the company added 547 electric vans, followed by an additional 750 vehicles in the subsequent months to reach the current total.

The 2,000th vehicle is a Maxus eDeliver 9, delivered to a store in Hemsworth. This model features a 150 kW motor, a 100-kWh battery, and a payload capacity of up to 1.9 tonnes. The vehicle supports DC charging up to 120 kW, allowing an 80% charge in 45 minutes.

Last autumn, Tesco ordered 750 Maxus eDeliver 9 units from Harris Maxus UK, which were equipped with refrigeration systems from Thermo King and GAH. The company estimates that its current electrification efforts reduce carbon emissions equivalent to removing 22,000 combustion cars annually.
