TerraMaster has unveiled its new 725 series of rackmount NAS systems, comprising four distinct models: U8-725, U12-725, U12-725 Plus, and U16-725 Plus. The entire lineup is powered by Intel Xeon D processors and includes 16 GB of ECC memory as a standard feature.
The standard models utilize 4-core Xeon processors, while the Plus variants are equipped with 8-core chips. These systems support NVMe SSDs, PCIe expansion, and high-speed networking, including 10GbE SFP+ and 5GbE ports, to handle demanding enterprise workloads.
The U12-725 model, featuring an Intel Xeon D-2712T processor, reached speeds of up to 6,250 MB/s for sequential reads and 3,480 MB/s for sequential writes in laboratory tests. Random 4K read performance was measured at up to 945,063 IOPS.
The platform is designed for diverse enterprise tasks, such as file storage, data backup, 4K/8K media production, AI dataset management, and virtualization. The series officially became available for purchase on September 22, 2026.
