The Teclab YouTube channel modified a GALAX HOF OC LAB RTX 5090 graphics card to feature a 3x8-pin power configuration, replacing the original dual 16-pin interface. The team installed a copper plate on the PCB back, routing 24 thick wires to the front power section, creating nine 12V lines with 8–8.5A current each.

To ensure the card recognized the new power setup, the team reconnected the Sense 0 and Sense 1 pins without altering the BIOS or software. During testing, the card reached a core frequency of 3400MHz at 900W, with cable temperatures remaining around 35°C. At peak, the card handled over 60A of current for over an hour.

Further testing involved removing the third 8-pin connector, where the card maintained over 66A and 3200MHz with temperatures below 25°C. In a stress test using only a single 8-pin connector, the card sustained 65A at 3.1–3.2GHz, with the connector reaching 45°C and cable temperatures peaking at 65°C.
