TCL CSOT is developing a new OLED technology platform aimed at the gaming monitor market. The company has officially outlined a roadmap that includes the introduction of OLED panels with a 700Hz refresh rate by 2028.

The industry has seen a steady rise in refresh rates, moving from 144Hz and 240Hz to current standards of 360Hz and 500Hz. TCL CSOT intends to bridge the gap between these existing products and its future 700Hz target.

Beyond raw frequency, the company is focusing on optimizing response times, power consumption, and panel longevity. These improvements are intended to support professional gaming and high-end display applications.

Achieving a 700Hz output requires significant hardware support, as processors and graphics cards must maintain extremely high frame rates. Experts note that such R&D efforts drive advancements in driving circuits, display algorithms, and pixel response speeds across the industry.

The move highlights the intensifying competition in the high-end display sector among major manufacturers like Samsung Display, LG Display, and TCL CSOT. If successful, the 2028 launch will mark a new milestone in the ongoing refresh rate race.
