Kevin Miao, CEO of Tare and founder of BlockTower Credit, presented his vision for consumer lending at the Avalanche Summit 2026 in New York. He advocates for moving the entire lending process onchain to eliminate intermediaries and reduce costs for borrowers.

Miao previously managed $1.9 billion in assets at BlockTower Credit using blockchain technology. His current project, Tare, is building native consumer lending infrastructure on the Avalanche blockchain to replace conventional financial channels.

The Avalanche Summit, held from September 16 to September 17, focused on institutional adoption and real-world assets. Participants included representatives from Franklin Templeton and Securitize, who discussed the integration of traditional finance with blockchain.

Other developments at the event included a partnership with Hanwha Group for tokenized securities. Additionally, the Aave V4 protocol launched on Avalanche in July 2026, marking the platform's first expansion beyond Ethereum to focus on tokenized asset lending.
