Tamron has introduced the 16-50mm F2.8 A (model B091) lens, designed for APS-C mirrorless cameras. The Sony E-mount version, designated as B091S, is now available on JD.com with a launch price of ¥2999. Customers can pay the final balance starting October 27. A Canon RF-mount version has also been listed, though its pricing remains undisclosed.
The lens features a constant F/2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range. The Sony E-mount model weighs 305g, measures 79.6mm in length, and has a 55mm filter diameter. It incorporates a VXD linear motor for high-speed, high-precision autofocus, suitable for tracking moving subjects like children or pets, and operates quietly for video recording.
Designed for versatility, the lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m at the wide-angle end. It is compatible with Sony Alpha full-frame, APS-C, and NEX series cameras. The build includes a simple moisture-resistant construction, an anti-fouling coating, and a lens cap with a lanyard hole to prevent loss.
