The TALIS protocol has launched on the Robinhood Chain, enabling users to divide tokenized equities into two distinct financial instruments: Income and Upside positions. This mechanism allows holders to separate steady income from leveraged growth potential.
At launch, the platform supports tokenized stocks for NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Tesla. Users deposit Robinhood Stock Tokens to receive ERC-20 Income and Upside tokens. The split is determined by a user-defined cap, where the Income position captures value up to that limit plus a premium, while the Upside position captures any appreciation beyond the cap.
Upside positions are sold via a descending-clock auction, with proceeds distributed to Income holders. The underlying stock tokens remain locked as collateral, eliminating liquidation risks. Settlement is based on a 30-minute time-weighted average price provided by Chainlink oracles.
TALIS charges a 5% fee on gross auction proceeds, payable in USDG, while splitting and merging positions remain free. The Robinhood Chain, which went live on July 1, 2026, is an Ethereum Layer-2 network built on Arbitrum Orbit with 100-millisecond block times.
Stock tokens on the network function as debt securities, providing economic exposure to US equities without granting legal ownership or voting rights. Trading is available in over 120 countries, excluding the US. The native TALIS token has a fixed supply of 1 billion units.
