Mobile operator T2 has deployed 5G networks across major subway stations in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. In Moscow, the technology is active on 172 stations, covering 62% of the network, including the newly opened Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya line. In Saint Petersburg, 5G is available on 24 stations, accounting for 34% of the city's subway infrastructure.

The operator reports peak speeds of 635 Mbps in Moscow and 251 Mbps in Saint Petersburg. These figures are four to five times higher than typical LTE performance. T2 emphasizes that these results were achieved under high network load conditions, rather than in laboratory settings, to ensure stable connectivity for daily commuters in dense urban environments.

Beyond the two capitals, T2 has launched 5G in five additional cities: Volgograd, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Perm, and Krasnoyarsk. Depending on the specific city, the infrastructure currently covers between 30% and 70% of the territory. The company plans to continue expanding its 5G coverage to increase availability for users across these regions.
