Swiss Bitcoin Pay, a payment processor based in Neuchâtel, has taken its servers offline following a suspected data breach. The company, which operates as a licensed financial intermediary in Switzerland, provides tools for Bitcoin payments via on-chain transactions and the Lightning Network.
The firm charges a 1% fee for payments kept in Bitcoin and 1.5% for automatic conversions to fiat currency. While the company has not disclosed the scope of the incident or the specific data exposed, it confirmed that customer funds remain secure due to its non-custodial architecture.
The service, established in late 2022, allows payments to flow directly into merchant wallets. Its mobile application and merchant API remain operational, and the company has implemented minor security updates. No official details regarding affected users have been released as of mid-September 2026.
