A survey by iTProtect reveals that 44% of Russian organizations either lack a Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) or use one without any integration with other security systems. The study involved IT and cybersecurity executives from sectors including finance, retail, and industry.
Among companies that do integrate their NGFW, 40% connect it with basic tools like SIEM, sandboxes, or two-factor authentication. Only 8% of respondents integrate their firewalls with Data Leak Prevention (DLP) systems, and another 8% link them to Security Awareness platforms.
Experts emphasize that integrating NGFW with DLP and Security Awareness tools is essential to mitigate risks from phishing and social engineering. Such combinations allow for automated responses, such as blocking unauthorized cloud uploads or triggering mandatory cybersecurity training for employees.
The survey also highlighted that 31% of organizations conduct regular anti-phishing training, while 12% implement strict access policies for high-risk users. Nearly half of the respondents, 46%, favor a comprehensive approach involving automated training and internal reviews of blocked attacks.
iTProtect reports over 10 years of experience in network security, having completed more than 60 integration projects. These implementations utilize both foreign solutions and six domestic NGFW products currently available in the company's portfolio.
