Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery has introduced a 15C smart flash charging battery system. At room temperature, the technology allows a vehicle to charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. A 1-minute charge provides 100 kilometers of range, and the system supports a total driving range exceeding 700 kilometers.

The battery system is designed to meet warranty requirements of 10 years or 300,000 kilometers for non-commercial vehicles, with no restrictions on the number of ultrafast charging sessions. To improve safety, the system uses smart battery cells 3.0, an energy domain controller, and an AI cloud-control platform capable of detecting over 20 types of faults with 99.77% accuracy.

Sunwoda plans to build an ecosystem that includes 10,000 megawatt charging stations by the end of 2027. This infrastructure will integrate energy storage, liquid-cooled charging terminals, and solar power. The company has not yet disclosed specific investment figures, locations for these stations, or a timeline for mass production of the new battery system.

The announcement follows similar developments in the Chinese market from companies like BYD, Hongqi, Dongfeng, and Xpeng. BYD has already reached 10,000 flash charging stations, while Xpeng recently launched its first megawatt charging station in Hong Kong. These industry players are increasingly focusing on expanding charging networks alongside battery performance.
