Chinese battery manufacturer Sunwoda has introduced a new 15C battery technology capable of charging an electric vehicle from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes at room temperature. The system adds approximately 100 km of range for every minute of charging. Additionally, the technology allows for a 10% to 70% charge in 5 minutes.

The company also demonstrated performance in extreme conditions, achieving a 10% to 97% charge in 15 minutes at a temperature of -20 degrees Celsius, providing 700 km of range. Sunwoda claims its batteries meet warranty requirements of 10 years or 300 000 km, regardless of the frequency of ultra-fast charging sessions.

Sunwoda currently supplies batteries to automotive manufacturers including Geely, Dongfeng, and GAC. Beyond battery production, the company is developing an open ecosystem that integrates solar power, energy storage, and ultra-fast charging infrastructure to facilitate broader energy management solutions.
