Subaru has unveiled the 2027 Impreza for the US market, featuring a new powertrain and a lower starting price. The vehicle is now equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and 241 Nm of torque, replacing the previous 152-horsepower 2.0-liter unit. All models come standard with a CVT and all-wheel drive.
The entry-level Base trim is priced at $24 595, which is $2 000 cheaper than the previous base model. To achieve this price point, Subaru reduced some equipment: the car now features 17-inch wheels instead of 18-inch ones, a 7-inch infotainment screen instead of an 11.6-inch display, and a four-speaker audio system. Smartphone connectivity is now limited to wired connections.
Despite the cost-cutting measures, the base model retains several features, including adaptive LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and a push-button start. The interior has received updated materials on the door panels and center console. The safety suite remains comprehensive, with the EyeSight system included as standard equipment.
The lineup for the US market has been simplified to two versions: Base and the top-tier RS. The RS trim remains unchanged in price, starting at $29 495. Sales of the updated Subaru Impreza are scheduled to begin before the end of 2026.
