Subaru plans to unveil limited-production special editions of the 2027 WRX and BRZ models. The official presentation is scheduled for September 27 at the Boxerfest event, which will take place at the York Fairgrounds in York, Pennsylvania.
The manufacturer describes the upcoming vehicles as enthusiast-focused models based on the existing WRX and BRZ platforms. A teaser image released by the company shows a WRX variant equipped with a large rear wing, though Subaru has not confirmed any specific technical details or performance figures.
The company has not disclosed production numbers, pricing, or official trim names for these special editions. While speculation regarding an STI revival has circulated, Subaru has not utilized the STI branding in its official announcements regarding these 2027 model-year vehicles.
The current WRX lineup in the United States includes the tS trim, which features a 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-four engine producing 271 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. This model is equipped with Brembo brakes, STI-tuned dampers, Recaro seats, and 19-inch wheels.
