Strategy Inc. spent $139.3 million to repurchase its STRC preferred shares between September 8 and 13. The company aims to retire equity trading below its $100 par value, thereby reducing future dividend obligations.
The buybacks are part of the Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program, which the board expanded to $2 billion in early September. As of September 7, $1.19 billion remained available under this authorization.
The company currently holds 845,050 BTC, acquired at an average cost of $75,412 per coin, totaling $63.73 billion. Bitcoin holdings remained unchanged during the recent repurchase period.
Strategy maintains $5.1 billion in cash reserves. The board has adopted a policy to keep liquidity sufficient to cover at least 12 months of interest and dividend payments, estimated at $1.76 billion annually.
