Step Terminal has officially scheduled the launch of its first large model-native agent smartphone, the STEPX Neo, for October 13 at 19:00. The company recently received regulatory approval for its on-device generative AI services on September 23.

The device was first showcased at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in July. It runs on the proprietary Step AOS, which features a rounded icon interface and a status bar that displays real-time AI activity.

The phone includes the Amoo assistant, designed for deep integration with third-party applications like Feishu. Users can request tasks such as report preparation or PPT creation, which the assistant executes by accessing calendar and message data.

Upon receiving user permission, the assistant can modify documents, adjust schedules, and synchronize updates across group chats. Once the tasks are completed, users can navigate directly to the linked applications to review the final results.
