SUSTAINera, the circular economy division of Stellantis, has launched a new line of refurbished high-voltage batteries. These components are now available for the majority of battery electric and plug-in hybrid models across the company's brand portfolio.
The product range also includes electrified dual-clutch transmissions for mild hybrids and electrically driven compressors. All parts are restored to original equipment manufacturer specifications, ensuring they meet the same performance standards and warranty terms as new MOPAR components.
Stellantis reports that using refurbished parts reduces raw material consumption by up to 80 percent and lowers carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40 percent compared to manufacturing new units. The company previously utilized these batteries for stationary energy storage projects, including an installation at Rome Airport.
The company will present these circular economy solutions at the Automechanika trade fair in Frankfurt, held from September 8 to 12. The exhibition will feature a live workshop environment at Hall 9.0, Stand F84-E84, to demonstrate the aftermarket application of these components.
