The SteelSeries Aeon Pro wireless controller for Xbox and PC is now available for purchase. The device is priced at $259.99 and features an integrated OLED screen for managing settings, including genre-based presets and connectivity modes. While basic adjustments are handled on the controller, advanced configurations like stick deadzones require the GG app for PC.
A key feature of the Aeon Pro is its swappable battery system, which includes two batteries providing approximately 12 hours of usage each. The included wireless base station charges the spare battery and supports dual USB-C inputs for automatic source switching between Xbox and PC. The battery is compatible with the company's Arctis Nova Pro, Omni, and Elite headsets.
The hardware incorporates Hall effect joysticks and triggers, alongside mechanical switches for buttons. The controller includes four non-removable rear paddles and two-position trigger stops that allow for shorter travel distances. Users can remap controls directly via the device or through the PC software.
Despite its feature set, the controller does not include a carrying case. The market offers several alternatives, such as the Sony DualSense Edge, which is $60 cheaper, and the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E, priced at $149.99, which provides modular components.
