London-based traveltech startup Stasher has raised £3 million to scale its luggage storage marketplace and smart locker operations. The financing round includes £2 million in growth capital from Gilion and a £1 million strategic investment from Hive Box, a provider of smart locker solutions.
Founded in 2015 by Jacob Wedderburn-Day and Anthony Collias, Stasher currently connects travelers with luggage storage space in hotels and local businesses. The company's existing network covers over 10,000 locations in more than 1,200 cities globally.
The partnership with Hive Box involves the deployment of an initial 100 smart lockers across the UK and Europe by mid-2027. These units integrate Hive Box hardware and IoT technology with the Stasher booking platform.
Stasher intends to utilize over 10 years of historical search and booking data to optimize the placement of future lockers. The company is targeting high-traffic areas such as transport hubs, tourist attractions, and leisure destinations to meet demand outside of standard business hours.
