The lending protocol Vesu, operating on the Starknet network, has introduced weekly STRK token rewards for users who take out loans backed by Bitcoin. This initiative, announced on October 8, 2026, aims to reduce the net cost of borrowing for participants.
Users can access these loans through the Sats Terminal interface, which serves as the primary frontend. Eligible collateral includes tokenized Bitcoin versions such as WBTC, LBTC, SolvBTC, tBTC, and strkBTC. Borrowers use these assets to secure stablecoin loans.
The Starknet Foundation has allocated 100 million STRK to support its BTCFi Season program, which incentivizes onchain Bitcoin activity. By utilizing these rewards, borrowers may achieve effective net APRs near zero or even in negative territory, depending on the market value of STRK.
Vesu functions as a modular, permissionless lending market that allows for segregated pools based on specific assets and risk profiles. The platform previously launched its V2 version in October 2025 to expand lending capacity for BTC collateral.
