Deeptech startup StandardX has secured £10 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Vsquared Ventures and East X Ventures, with additional backing from firstminute capital, UKI2S, Brevan Howard Macro Venture, and Geometry.
Founded in 2025 by nuclear engineers Richard Pearson and Ross Allen, the company is developing an accelerator-based platform for isotope production. The system aims to replace traditional infrastructure with a scalable, distributed model that can manufacture various isotopes within a standard industrial footprint.
The company will use the capital to expand its team, secure its first industrial site in London, and advance the construction of its refinery system. StandardX intends to begin pilot production for a medical research partner by 2027, with full industrial-scale operations slated for 2029.
StandardX focuses on isotopes for cancer diagnosis and treatment, including targeted alpha therapies. Beyond healthcare, the company has signed agreements with fusion energy developers to produce tritium, aiming to address critical supply chain constraints in both the medical and energy sectors.
