Block Inc. is reportedly planning to introduce a Bitcoin rewards option for its Square Credit Card. Users will be able to receive 3% cash back in Bitcoin instead of traditional dollar-based rewards.
The company has not yet released the official terms, including eligibility criteria, the exact launch timeline, or the technical mechanics for delivering the Bitcoin rewards to cardholders.
In August 2026, Square updated its credit card structure to provide 3% unlimited cash back on Square Bill Pay transactions and 1.5% on other purchases. The card operates on the American Express network.
Block has been integrating Bitcoin features into its ecosystem throughout 2025 and 2026. This includes tools for merchants to accept Bitcoin payments with zero fees through the end of 2026.
Additionally, the company's Cash App currently offers a 5% Bitcoin back promotion for purchases at Square merchants, which is capped at $30 per month and runs until December 31, 2026.
