The Speedtest.ru service has released its inaugural monthly ranking of internet connection quality across Russian regions. The study, which covers data from August 2026, is based on over 5 million user measurements. The analysis separately evaluates mobile internet performance and fixed broadband access across the country.

Altai Krai topped the mobile internet category with a score of 85.54 points, followed by Krasnodar Krai with 80.5 points and Stavropol Krai with 77.76 points. The top ten also includes the Tyumen, Rostov, Ulyanovsk, Voronezh, and Saratov regions, as well as Chuvashia and Krasnoyarsk Krai.

In the fixed broadband segment, Saint Petersburg leads with 88.56 points, while the Moscow region and Murmansk region follow with 85.27 and 82.7 points, respectively. Leading regions demonstrate median download speeds exceeding 90 Mbps and latency between 5 and 7 ms.

The methodology considers download and upload speeds, latency, and connection stability. Only regions with at least 1,000 measurements per month were included, excluding mobile tests conducted via Wi-Fi. The service notes that results reflect quality only at specific measurement locations.
