Speedtest.ru has launched a monthly ranking of internet connection quality across Russian regions, based on data collected in August 2026. The report covers both mobile and fixed broadband services, utilizing over 5 million user measurements.

To ensure statistical accuracy, the service required at least 1,000 measurements per region for each connection type. The analysis focuses on median download and upload speeds, as well as latency, excluding Wi-Fi data for the mobile segment.

In the fixed broadband category, the top ten regions show median download speeds exceeding 90 Mbps with latency between 5 and 7 ms. The Murmansk Region leads with a median download speed of 121.26 Mbps and an upload speed of 133.69 Mbps.

For mobile access, the top ten regions recorded median download speeds ranging from 24.5 Mbps to 45.11 Mbps, with latency between 30.5 and 67 ms. The Tyumen Region holds the top position with 45.11 Mbps download and 46.3 Mbps upload speeds.

The service plans to update these rankings on a monthly basis to track connectivity trends across the country. The next report, covering September 2026, is scheduled for publication in the first ten days of October.
