SpaceX has updated the development schedule for its HLS lunar lander, which is being built for the NASA Artemis program. The company currently aims to conduct the first crewed lunar landing by the end of 2027.

Before the landing can proceed, SpaceX must complete several critical testing phases. A key requirement for the mission is the successful demonstration of orbital refueling, which is essential for deep space travel.

The company plans to achieve several milestones by the end of 2026. These include the first attempt to catch the Starship spacecraft using the Mechazilla tower and the recovery of the Super Heavy booster for reuse.

Additionally, SpaceX is preparing for the first Starship launch from the LC-39A complex at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tests are intended to validate rapid reuse capabilities and ensure the infrastructure is ready for future missions.
