SpaceX shares have fallen below their initial public offering price of $135 by mid-July 2026. The stock, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX, previously saw a first-day surge of 19–20% after opening at $150 on June 12 and closing at $161.

The company raised approximately $85,7 billion in its IPO, the largest in history. This total includes the initial offering of 555,6 million shares at $135 each and an additional 83,3 million shares issued after underwriters Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley exercised their overallotment option.

The debut valuation reached $1,77 trillion, briefly pushing the company's market capitalization above $2,1 trillion on the first day of trading. This event provided liquidity to early investors, including Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.

The recent decline of more than 14% from the first-day closing price is attributed to profit-taking by early investors and a broader market reassessment of technology infrastructure spending. SpaceX reported revenues of $18,67 billion in the fiscal year preceding the IPO.
