Reports suggest that SpaceX is seeking $40 billion in financing led by Apollo Global Management to purchase Nvidia hardware. This information originated from a post on X and has not been officially confirmed by the company or public filings.
SpaceX has previously committed to using Nvidia hardware, including the Vera Rubin architecture. By June 2026, the company reported $28 billion in non-cancelable AI-related commitments, with significant portions maturing in 2027. In the second quarter of 2026, capital expenditure on compute infrastructure reached $15.8 billion.
Apollo Global Management has a history of financing Nvidia GPU clusters for SpaceX, including deals worth $3.5 billion and $3.4 billion earlier in 2026. Furthermore, Nvidia held a stake in SpaceX valued at approximately $21 billion as of June 2026, consisting of 122.8 million shares.
SpaceX is currently leasing compute capacity to third parties to offset costs. Revenue from these leases could potentially exceed $40 billion annually, with agreements such as the one with Anthropic valued at $1.25 billion per month. Nvidia and Apollo are also exploring broader consortia for AI infrastructure financing.
