Space Cargo Unlimited, based in Luxembourg, has secured a dedicated mission on the SpaceX Starfall reentry vehicle. The flight is scheduled to launch on a Starship rocket in 2028.

CEO Nicolas Gaume confirmed that one-third of the vehicle’s 1,000-kg capacity is already booked. The company expects to secure customers for half of the total capacity by the end of this year.

The company utilizes its BentoBox payload, which serves as a standardized, autonomous factory for research and manufacturing in space. This system is designed to be vehicle-agnostic.

According to Gaume, the Starfall vehicle offers ten times the payload capacity compared to other options. It also provides increased power, which the company claims improves service and economics for clients.

Space Cargo Unlimited aims to simplify the transition of terrestrial laboratory technology to orbit. The goal is to allow researchers to conduct experiments in microgravity without requiring specialized orbital operations training.
