Sony has released the 26.06-14.00.00 system update for its PlayStation 5 consoles. The update introduces several new features, with the PS5 Pro model now featuring an enhanced PSSR image quality setting enabled by default. This AI-driven technology, known as PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, reconstructs low-resolution images into high-resolution visuals without increasing the GPU rendering load.
Users can manually toggle the enhanced PSSR feature via the system settings under Screen and Video. The update also adds a Community Game Help widget to the Welcome Hub, allowing players to view trending multiplayer games and top ten lists based on regional popularity over the past week. These lists highlight games with significant community activity.
Additionally, the update includes changes to Bluetooth management for PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles in specific regions. Users can now disable Bluetooth in the advanced settings menu to manage controller connections in environments like esports venues. Note that disabling Bluetooth prevents the console from entering rest mode and disables HDMI device link functionality.
