The Sony FE 50mm F1.4 GM full-frame lens, model SEL50F14GM, was originally released in March 2023 with a launch price of ¥9599. During the JD.com 11.11 promotion, the price is reduced to ¥6259 through a combination of a PLUS discount and a 10% government subsidy.
The lens features two XA (extreme aspherical) elements, one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element, and an 11-blade circular aperture. It utilizes high-thrust XD linear motors, which the company claims provide autofocus speeds 1.9 times faster than the previous generation.
The device weighs approximately 516g, which is about 33% lighter and 15% smaller in volume than its predecessor. It offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.41 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.16x during autofocus operations.
