Sony has unveiled two new wireless gaming headsets, PlayStation Pulse and Pulse Edge. Both devices share a common design and feature studio-grade planar magnetic drivers. The Pulse model utilizes four magnets per driver, while the Pulse Edge is equipped with eight magnets per driver to deliver enhanced bass performance.
The Pulse Edge headset includes active noise cancellation for its drivers and a detachable AI-powered noise-canceling microphone. In contrast, the standard Pulse model features a fixed AI noise-canceling microphone. Both headsets include integrated volume controls and support Tempest 3D spatial audio.
When paired with a PS5, the Pulse Edge offers additional voice audio settings and includes a carrying case. Both headsets are compatible with devices supporting PlayStation Link, such as PS5 consoles, the PlayStation Portal remote player, PC, and Mac. They also support simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity.
The headsets will be available for purchase in early 2027. Sony will offer both models in two color schemes: solid black and a black-and-white combination. The company has not yet disclosed the pricing for either of the new gaming headset models.
