Sony has started rolling out the Android 17 update for several Xperia devices, including the Xperia 1 VIII, 1 VII, 1 VI, 10 VIII, and 10 VII. The update is being deployed across different regions, with users in the UK and Germany already receiving the build version 73.1.A.2.61, which is approximately 1.2GB in size.
A key addition is the desktop mode, now available for the Xperia 1 VIII, 1 VII, and 1 VI. This feature allows users to connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to transform the phone's interface into a PC-like experience for browsing the web and checking emails on a larger screen.
The update also introduces new lock screen wallpapers and clock styles for personalization. The screen recording assistant has been upgraded, enabling users to record a single application and choose between system audio or microphone input.
The Xperia 1 VIII receives exclusive updates to its AI camera assistant, which now includes several new presets. Additionally, users can save up to three custom image styles in photo mode.
