Ben Nadareski, CEO of the Solana-based DeFi platform Solstice, stated that the cryptocurrency market is becoming less prone to extreme boom-and-bust cycles. He attributes this shift to increased liquidity and greater institutional participation, which help stabilize digital assets and reduce volatility compared to previous market cycles.
Data from a December 2025 report by Glassnode and Fasanara Digital supports this trend, showing that Bitcoin’s one-year realized volatility dropped from 84.4% to 43%. Additionally, daily Bitcoin spot volumes rose to between $8 billion and $22 billion, compared to the previous range of $4 billion to $13 billion.
Institutional interest is reshaping the market, with Anthony Scaramucci of SkyBridge Capital noting that inflows from spot Bitcoin ETFs have muted traditional market cycles. Stablecoins are also playing a larger role in liquidity, accounting for 75% of total crypto trading volume in the first quarter of 2026, with transaction volume exceeding $28 trillion.
Regarding the Solana ecosystem, Nadareski projects that the value of stablecoins on the network could grow from the current $16 billion to between $50 billion and $100 billion over the next five years. He cites high transaction speeds, low fees, and increasing adoption by fintech companies as primary drivers for this expansion.
