The Sollers Group has launched production of the new full-size frame SUV, the Sollers S9, at the Ulyanovsk industrial complex. The company has upgraded the facility by installing a new press complex and establishing dedicated lines for body welding and vehicle assembly.

The S9 is based on the ST9 pickup truck platform and was developed in collaboration with a technology partner and specialists from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The vehicle features a frame chassis and a full-time all-wheel drive system.

Customers can choose between two 2.0-liter engines: a 200 hp gasoline version or a 143 hp diesel variant. Both engine options are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The first units are expected to reach dealerships in December.

Sollers aims for a high level of localization for the S9 model. The company plans to manufacture the body, powertrains, electronic components, safety systems, as well as interior and exterior parts within Russia. Official sales are scheduled to begin by the end of the year.
