Solidigm, a subsidiary of SK hynix specializing in NAND flash memory, is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering in 2027. The company aims to raise $15 billion, potentially reaching a market valuation of $150 billion.
Representatives of the California-based firm have already initiated discussions with investment banks to manage the offering. If successful, this deal would represent the largest IPO in the history of the United States semiconductor sector, surpassing the $54 billion valuation achieved by Arm in 2023.
The company currently supplies high-capacity solid-state drives to server providers. Its manufacturing operations include a major facility in Dalian, China, acquired from Intel in 2020 for $9 billion. Official representatives have not confirmed the IPO plans, citing only a general focus on enhancing business competitiveness.
Reports also indicate that SK hynix is seeking to raise $3.6 billion in private capital for Solidigm prior to the public listing. Additionally, there has been speculation regarding the company's potential interest in constructing a new memory production facility in New York state.
