During the September 18-20, 2026, State Duma elections, Solar Group and Rostelecom defended the electronic voting infrastructure against over 3,000 waves of DDoS attacks. The peak intensity of these attacks reached 1.7 Tbps, surpassing the volumes recorded during the 2024 presidential elections.
The defense team blocked more than 170 million malicious attempts to exploit vulnerabilities in web services, including the official election portal and Central Election Commission resources. Over 900 experts from the Solar JSOC center monitored the systems around the clock to prevent unauthorized access or data tampering.
Attackers utilized AI-driven tools and originated from IP addresses in more than 30 countries, including the UK, USA, China, and France. The primary targets included the electronic government infrastructure, which faced nearly 2,000 DDoS waves, as well as Rostelecom networks and election-related systems.
Solar AURA specialists, in coordination with the National Coordination Center for Computer Incidents, identified and blocked several hundred fraudulent websites designed to harvest user credentials and personal data. No service degradation or successful breaches were reported during the three-day period.
