Solana's share of the global tokenized stock trading volume dropped from 71% to 30% in the two weeks leading up to August 27, 2026. This shift occurred as liquidity moved toward competing EVM-compatible networks, specifically BNB Chain and a new Robinhood-branded chain.
These rival platforms introduced hybrid trading mechanics that bundle memecoins with tokenized real-world assets. For instance, a meme and stock pair on BNB Chain reached a peak market capitalization of $77 million, while a similar pair on the Robinhood Chain hit $67 million.
The new trading model requires users to bridge assets to the host chain, which increases transaction volumes and attracts further speculative capital. This contrasts with the xStocks protocol on Solana, which focuses on listing tokenized versions of stocks.
Solana previously held a dominant position in the market. During the second quarter of 2026, the network captured between 95% and 97% of all on-chain tokenized equity spot trading volume, particularly during a surge in SpaceX-related activity in June.
Since the launch of the xStocks protocol in July 2025, Solana has processed over $9.5 billion in cumulative tokenized stock volume. As of late August 2026, the network had 288,000 unique holders and $56 million in equity-backed lending pools.
