The Solana Foundation has launched Solana DvP, an open-source settlement program tailored for financial institutions. The tool provides an application programming interface designed to facilitate delivery-versus-payment settlement directly on the Solana blockchain.

The system aims to reduce traditional securities settlement times, which typically take one to two days, down to mere seconds. It achieves this by bundling asset transfers and payments into a single atomic transaction that either executes completely or fails entirely, eliminating the need for custom smart contracts.

JPMorgan contributed to the development by providing insights into institutional requirements and market practices. Rhodel D’Souza, head of markets digital assets at the bank, noted that such infrastructure is essential for institutions to scale operations while minimizing settlement risk and counterparty exposure.

This initiative follows other industry efforts to accelerate financial settlements using blockchain technology. In June 2025, Chainlink, Kinexys by JPMorgan, and Ondo Finance conducted a cross-chain DvP pilot involving a tokenized US Treasury fund. Additionally, Payward, the parent company of Kraken, recently partnered with Singapore Gulf Bank to provide 24/7 US dollar settlement services for institutional clients in Asia and the Gulf region.
