The Smart #2, a new two-seater electric vehicle from the joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. The car features a 35.8 kWh LFP battery and offers a WLTP range of up to 290 km. It is built on the new Electric Compact Architecture platform and is powered by a 60 kW rear motor with 130 Nm of torque.
The vehicle measures 2,746 mm in length and includes a five-link rear suspension. It supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes. Standard equipment includes a 10.1-inch center screen, an 8.8-inch driver display, adaptive cruise control, and the Smart Pilot Assist system.
Starting at €19,990, the Smart #2 will be available in Germany, France, and Italy. Early orders in Europe open tomorrow, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027. The company plans to sell the vehicle through retail partners initially, with online ordering options becoming available in the first half of 2027.
The model is currently undergoing EU homologation, which may lead to specification adjustments before the start of deliveries. It competes in the European market with the Renault Twingo E-Tech, which also carries a starting price of €19,990. The Smart #2 will not be available in the United States or Canada.
